This is a song I wrote for my friends Chad and Christina who just got married. It's about hitting life together with a sense of awe and adventure and going on that journey together, even through winding and unseen paths. The map they have drawn out together, though, will get them to where they need to be.
They are two of the most inspiring people I have met with their love and zest for life and seeing the world. I'm so happy that they have found each other to ride this crazy wave of life together.
I love them so much and here is my tribute to them.
lyrics
THE MAP WE HAVE DRAWN OUT
I’m feelin’ somethin’
A fire at our core
And we are wanting a little something more
And alone we may have our
Feet stuck to the floor
But If we go together they won’t be anymore
Close your eyes
And throw your finger down
That’s where we’re goin now
CHORUS:
Take my hand
We’re leaving
Down this winding road
And I can’t
Believe it
It’s finally time to go
And if all
We have is
The map we have drawn out
Then it’s all
We’re needing
To make our way around
The hills are callin’
For us to come along
They cut the clouds above
And we can’t see the top
So we’re relyin’
On what we know is there
So let’s head on up for we
Can make it anywhere
Close your eyes
And throw your finger down
That’s where we’re goin now
CHORUS:
Take my hand
We’re leaving
Down this winding road
And I can’t
Believe it
It’s finally time to go
And if all
We have is
The map we have drawn out
Then it’s all
We’re needing
To make our way around
